Little Green Button vs. your clinical system alternative
SystmOne, Vision and Emis Web have all introduced their own panic buttons. However, we believe they are still miles behind the Little Green Button. If you are considering moving away from LGB please consider the following points first:
  • The Little Green Button is always available from the moment you log into your PC. It does not require you to be logged into any other program.
  • It floats above every program that you have running so can always be accessed quickly in an emergency regardless of what you are working on.
  • Remember that a panic button is there to initiate a request for assistance but more importantly it must have people who are able to respond. Often the responding users do not need to use clinical or appointment systems or they may have exited the program. Alert messages also displayed above every program that you are running.
  • When Little Green Button is triggered there is an optional audible alarm.
  • Little Green Button will still work even on the rare occasion that your clinical system goes down or internet connection is lost. Some clinical systems require you to login again if you have not moved your mouse in a while.
  • Each Little Green Button is given a location name by yourselves so it is very easy for staff to understand where assistance is required. Just displaying a person's name is not ideal, someone may not always work in the same room.
  • The software lets you know the moment that someone responds to an alert and gives you their location also.
  • You can easily programme one keyboard function key to activate the button too for example F3.
  • Your organisation can be divided into groups so not everyone in the building is alerted if this is appropriate.
  • If you feel physical buttons are more appropriate for given situations, for example, for those users that work away from their computer then we sell panic switches which attach to the PC on a length of cable and can be installed anywhere in the room, even in the room next door if necessary! A panic switch can be purchased for just £10.00 (ex VAT) so is a far cheaper option than a traditional panic alarm system.
  • Our standard licence covering up to 50 PCs costs just £100.00 (ex VAT) per year, this fee has been kept at this rate for many years now and we do not foresee any price hikes in the near future.

We are always looking at ways to improve our software so if there is a function that you feel would be beneficial please do let us know. If we can ever be of assistance in the future please do not hesitate to contact us.
