Do you have more than one waiting area in your practice?
Did you realise that your Patient Entry Touch Screen can direct patients to the correct waiting room?
You can configure different waiting areas within your Touch Screen Console by following these instructions:
- Open your Touch Screen Console which will be installed on at least one PC within the practice
- Click on the Locations tab
- In the Waiting areas section, click on the
icon to add a new waiting area, type a name for your waiting area and click the save
icon.
Now for each waiting area you must add a call description (the instructions that will be displayed on your Touch Screen when a patient needs to go to this waiting area):
- Highlight each waiting area, in the Call descriptions section choose a language from the drop down list. Now type the description you want to use e.g. Please take a seat in the upstairs waiting area. Click the
save icon
Now create your rooms and assign them to a waiting area:
- In the Rooms section click on the
icon to add a new room
- Type a name for your room and click the
save icon
- Repeat for all rooms used for appointments
Now assign your rooms to a waiting area:
- Highlight a waiting area in the Waiting Areas section
- Highlight each room that uses this waiting area within the Unassigned rooms list and click the
icon to assign it to the highlighted waiting area
Next you need to assign your staff to the room which they use, if your staff move rooms you would need to update this as often as necessary:
- Click on the Staff tab
- Click on the Refresh list button to import any clinicians
- For each clinician, select the room which they are using from the drop down list
- The Touch Screen remembers the assigned rooms so you will not need to update this information unless the clinician moves rooms
