Creating visits from messages in Encompass
We have had several critical incidents where clinicians have failed to convert Encompass 'messages' to 'visits' properly, so that the resulting visit did not appear in the 'Visit book', and the patient was not visited.

Our normal process is for receptionists to send a message asking us to phone the patient. If the outcome of the phone call is that a visit is agreed, the clinician changes the message 'type' to 'visit' and redirects it to the doctor pool. This is a clunky process and I can understand why errors occur.

Solutions might be that we change our process completely or that the message page includes an easy single button which does the job of 'change message type to visit and forward to doctor pool'.

This seems to us a critical process and worth the development work involved - but we are not sure how everybody else manages the same situation and whether there is a demand out there for this????

RE: Creating visits from messages in Encompass
It's a tricky one, this. Every surgery does things differently and whilst a "Button" to change type and redirect to the Visit pool would work for you, we could end up annoying other users who don't do things that way. We *do* have a couple of ideas, but it'll be interesting to see if anyone else has views on how to do this first.
